<meta name="description" content="PH: The Yale Journal of Public Health is an independent publication founded to provide a forum for discussion and enquiry in a medium that is accessible to both specialists and non-specialists alike. While the Yale Herald and the Yale Daily News have been publishing an increasing number of stories on public health issues, there exists no place where students with a specific interest in this topic can contribute writings and instigate debate among undergraduates with like interests. Public Health is a broad topic that merits its own journal, and by creating a new publication, we will encourage campus discourse in a field that undergraduates can seldom pursue in their academic work or in the formal journals published at the graduate school level. In order to produce a large-scale product with the same popularity as existing publications (i.e. The Herald, The Politic), a hard-copy campaign is essential, in addition to an online resource to complement the paper copy distribution. One of our foremost goals was to convince readers of how far-reaching the public health arena is, not only in its presence around the globe but also in its range of involved disciplines: medicine, politics, economics, and more. In PH's pages, we hope you discover that public health is not limited to disease containment or to the politics of health, but is a dynamic and broad topic that includes the social consequences of diseased teachers and parents, the health impact of environmental issues, and the relationship between global health and economic development.">
